We recently gained access to the dialogue studio which is equipped with a dampened booth for recording. This studio is specifically designed to record dialogue and is equipped with a Neumann U47 which is a great condenser that offers a warm tone to the vocals and so I felt it was appropriate to get in and do the required grunts and breaths for my trailer. As I was on my own I felt it was appropriate to record on loop recording so I could focus on the recording. Once the recording had finished it was important to go through and ensure the best takes were selected, and also ensuring the timing matched. I quickly realised after going through that I would have to re record some parts as the breathing caused issues in terms of the placement, I realised the importance of off axis breathing to make sure there wasn't too much low end presence. For the underwater scene I had to experiment with different approaches, involving clothes and different experimentation with hand placements to instigate the fact the character is underwater having trouble breathing and also scared.
