So after implementing the sounds and ensuring that i was happy with the sounds that were implemented into the Wwise Adventure game, i recorded videos of all the necessary involvements within the game that i want to showcase and this was the state i left the game at. I believed that this was a point that i was finished and done with the course, and was happy with where i was at with things. I have yet to compile these videos into a Showreel as of which i am yet to do, although this is something on my to do list and i am wanting to take some time ensuring the showreel best serves the learning outcomes that came out of partaking in the course. I started back at University a few weeks after the course finished and so my time was spent preparing and getting affairs in order as well as other life duties.

I believe i am managing my time well and currently involved heavily in my dissertation, although i am also investing a lot of time into my honors project as of which i am not entirely certain on the direction. It may/or may not be apparent but i am very much interested in game audio, and so i am dedicating as much time possible to learning everything i can to quickly get myself up to speed with things. Since year 2 reestablished my love for sound design in games, i decided to fully embark on learning necessary middleware and further my knowledge of the implementation. As i have developed a familiar relationship now with Wwise, it is still apparent to me that i need to understand a game engine. This has led me to begin learning Unity, which of course is a very popular game engine that works in tandem with Wwise to implement audio into a game.

I have yet to pinpoint my focus on a project for my Honors, although i am certain that it will have involvements with both Wwise and Unity. As i have realised already from spending a good amount of time with the engine, i wont be just dipping my toes into the unknown but rather jumping headfirst as i have a major amount still to learn and get to grips with as there are many aspects of the engine that i had not considered. I had real difficulties setting Wwise up in terms of getting the program to work on my macbook, and this was apparent with the Unity engine also. There was many issues with integrating Wwise to work with Unity, debugging and soundbank pathways that i have finally managed to fix, alongside this i did not consider a first person controller in the game that i was working on prior that i would have to implement, it seemed as though was 1 step forward 2 steps back. The most important thing is i seemed to figure these problems out and in the end thats the most important thing!

After this whole cascade of events i decided to backtrack a little and not totally embark on something that may be out of my ability just yet, but rather keep that to the side while i get myself more comfortable using the engine. Currently i am working on a simple game named the stack, the stack is a simple 3D slider game as of which the player must stop the sliding cube as close above to the previous box in order to build a tower as high as they can without sacraficing any of the sides. It is pretty simple in design but also clever in its design also, and will help me in implementing sounds. I am looking forward to working on it more!
