I'm roughly at the 3.30 mark for this trailer for the Spot FX. I have now hit the track limit in Pro Tools and even though i knew this would happen it still took my by surprise at just how fast this happened, being roughly at the half way mark. I know what i must do to fix this issue, i will ensure that the sounds that are needed for this session are all implemented and therefore enable me to just create a new session without painstakingly going through the session and committing tracks. I know for future reference to commit to things more, as this will save me time in the long run. Although, due to the nature of mixing certain elements and sounds i want to refrain from committing due to wanting to mix in surround sound, even though i will be processing the stems into pre-dubs for the mixing stage. I am just aware of the time frame this trailer needs to be submitted for, and know that i am going to need to speed up the process and get this trailer done in a timely manner.

I just wanted to talk more about the importance of layering, and how perspective comes into play when designing sound elements for certain scenes. In the scene in the woods, there is a multitude of different elements that must be considered in this scene. Due to there being a machine gun being fired off screen and therefore needs to be attenuated to suit this perspective of the bird in the scene, requiring careful equalisation and volume adjustments. I have negated the automation for volume by just simply duplicating the tracks onto separate tracks, dipping the volume and adding equalisation. Obviously this has its hindrances as i have now hit my track limit, as i was thinking this might save time but could have potentially made things longer if i was to just automate in the first place.

I am still wanting to add more layers to the wood scene. I know that there are further lower frequency layers with more upfront perspective of trees being shot into which will require some creative manipulation with certain sounds. I will post the result once finished, but here is the current state of the scene.
